SCPC EARTH STATION
DEDICATED SATELLITE CHANNELS
UHP satellite router is universal VSAT platform supporting all popular modes of operations. One of such modes is SCPC – a dedicated channel mode, when two or more Earth Stations interact with each other via fixed dedicated satellite bandwidth with a guaranteed physical level capacity. The throughput of the channel in every direction is independent, allowing to implement any asymmetry. SCPC channel can also be used to broadcast information to unlimited number of recipients. UHP SCPC technology supports DVB-S and DVB-S2 ACM industry standard modulation and coding, providing highly efficient satellite capacity utilization. Built-in IP router simplifies IP networking and allows transporting various data with different QoS in a single channel. Intelligent Transmit Level Control (TLC) in combinationwith Adaptive Coding and Modulation (ACM) ensures unprecedented service availability regardless of weather conditions.

SCPC DAMA
SCPC DAMA mode allows creation of star-topology MCPC/SCPC networks with dynamic carrier allocation on schedule or on demand. Central station in such a network broadcasts a MCPC carrier received by all the remote stations. Central station assigns station for a certain period of time to one of the remotes an SCPC carrier with specified bandwidth and level. Such solution is well-suited for applications like DSNG, video-conferencing, business continuity among others. UHP-based SCPC is a low-cost solution, which can be easily upgraded by entering a software license key to a more advanced mode of UHP operation such as TDM/TDMA. The unique scalability ensures that the network configuration and performance follow evolution of the customer’s demand.

ADAPTIVE SCPC CHANNELS
Automatic Transmission Level Control and Adaptive Coding and Modulation (ACM) functions ensure unprecedented service availability regardless of weather conditions.

HOT-STANDBY REDUNDANCY
UHP routers support automatic 1:1 hot-standby redundancy option without any external controllers. The standby router constantly monitors performance of the basic set, and if there is any anomaly in its work, performs automatic switching of roles, taking on the function of the main unit.

UHP VSAT NETWORK
UHP terminal is a compact satellite station that can be installed within a few hours, virtually anywhere, regardless of status of the local infrastructure. UHP terminal provides continuous, interactive access to external networks via the network Hub. The terminal acts as a standard IP router, but is able to use a satellite as a communication channel. Due to the high throughput, intelligent Quality of Service management and dynamic satellite resource reallocation, UHP VSAT network provides the users with various kinds of communications services – Internet access, e-mail exchange, client-server applications, telephony, video, etc. UHP terminals may operate in classical “hub and spoke” topology or in meshed connectivity ensuring a single satellite hop and when transmitting data in-between the network terminals.

UHP TDM/TDMA HUB
The Hub consists of one or more UHP-8000 satellite routers. modes of operations: SCPC, Full Mesh TDMA In its basic configuration, it has a single UHP-8000 router which transmits one outbound TDM carrier towards all the remote terminals and receives two inbound TDMA carriers shared between all the remotes. Additional satellite routers are required in order to support more inbound carriers and/or to create redundant configurations in the Hub. TDM/TDMA Mesh feature allows single-hop connectivity between the remotes via the TDMA carrier also used in the inbound. The Hub is typically installed in one or more 19” rack mounted chassis. The outbound TDM channel makes use of the most efficient modulation and coding technologies based on DVB-S2 ACM (or DVB-S) industry standard. The design of the outbound channel, in combination with an innovative, bandwidth-saving MF-TDMA protocol and LDPC FEC coding in the inbound channel, ensures industry-lowest operating costs and delivery of highest-quality services. UHP technology has unparalleled versatility and minimizes both CAPEX and OPEX, thus guaranteeing the lowest total cost of ownership for satellite networks of any configuration.

UHP TDM/TDMA Mini HUB
UHP Mini Hub is an entry-level solution based on a single UHP-1000 satellite router which transmits one outbound TDM carrier towards all remote terminals and receives one inbound TDMA carrier shared between all remotes. Additional satellite routers are required to support more inbound carriers or to create redundant Hub configurations. UHP Mini Hub supports TDM/TDMA Mesh feature and allows single-hop connectivity between the remotes via the TDMA carrier. Any UHP-1000 router is software-upgradable to operate as a Mini Hub.

UHP TDM/TDMA TERMINAL
UHP Terminal requires no local management and is fully managed by the Hub. The network terminal receives TDM channel from the Hub and routes the data to respective users on its LAN port. The terminal transmits data back to the Hub as time bursts via shared TDMA channel. Low-cost UHP hardware in conjunction with highly efficient bandwidth utilization ensure the market best cost of the network ownership, regardless of its size and purpose. Wide variety of software-activated features and modes of operation guarantees that the network always fits any user’s demands.

HUBLESS TDMA

UHP Hubless is a VSAT technology providing single hop connectivity between all the sites. Hubless network comprises terminals interacting via shared TDMA channel. The Station makes use of the TDMA channel to receive and transmit information, ensuring dynamic resource distribution among both the stations and transmission routes. Hubless network ensures the best bandwidth on demand distribution, using the same satellite capacity for all the terminals and all the directions of transmission. UHP Hubless Network supports any topologies and seamlessly connects all the sites, using IP protocol and built-in IP router. It is the most powerful product on the market in terms of throughput, flexibility and efficiency. The minimal network can be deployed just in 120 kHz of satellite capacity with ability for further expansion up to 10 Mbps per carrier.

Hubless UHP-1000 terminal includes an integrated DVB-S2 demodulator which can be used to receive some additional broadband carrier from the same or another satellite, boosting some star-topology heavy-traffic applications like Internet access, IPTV streaming etc. With its low cost hardware and effective utilization of satellite capacity UHP Hubless technology is optimal solution for small-size networks of any topology and is above of any competition in networks with complicated topologies requiring Mesh connectivity. UHP Hubless is also a very efficient replacement for traditional SCPC networks, allowing to combine number of links within a single TDMA throughput with a proper QoS.

UHP NMS

The UHP network management system (UHP NMS) is an advanced user-friendly instrument for controlling and monitoring of satellite communication networks based on the UHP platform. NMS substantially simplifies configuration of Hub and network Terminals, as well as in the simple and evident form provides information about current and historical conditions of the whole network and its individual elements. UHP NMS distributes configuration to devices, collects and stores statistics into database, analyzes network state and provides network operators with detailed information in graphical and tabular form. With support of any network topologies and various modes of UHP operations the Network Management System allows providing professional network operations and increase overall customer satisfaction.

NMS application software is shipped pre-installed on Linux server. The NMS server is usually collocated to the UHP Hub, but can also perform control and monitoring of remote hubs through leased IP connection or the Internet. UHP NMS provides multi-user and multi-language web interface and supports multiple Virtual Network Operators sharing common network resources with proper user rights and network resources allocation.

UHP NMS consists of three basic components: the system core, the web-based user interface and the configuration/statistics database. The core communicates with the UHP equipment analyzing its behavior and collecting statistics. The database holds this information for specified number of time, usually several years. Configuration is held in MySQL database, statistics is held in binary form which is more efficient and fast to access. Binary format is open for external access or export. The web interface shows all collected information in graphical form and provides mechanisms for configuration of the network equipment.
